Spy Headquarters
By the end of our visit they had rigged up a rope system to get up there and had decorated with various objects from the first load of boxes we'd brought over.
Unfortunately by that time I was too tired to contemplate getting up there to take photos so you'll just have to use your imaginations. The whole house is like a magical cubby for me so I was so glad they had found their own - looks like S.B. will have to find another storage spot until the novelty has worn off.

Moondoggie's Room
Moondoggie will have his very own room and I have realised that he has absolutely no furniture to go in it. The kids always shared and the built in beds will of course stay in Gidget's room. I think somewhere in the mess of stored furniture there is an old bed head that belonged to Surfer Boy so until we get around to building him his ideal bed that will have to suffice. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there will be something we can re-purpose as clothing storage.. poor Moondoggie - me thinks it will be a while until his room is 'a joy to behold'.
I have secretly fallen in love with this wallpaper though - I have visions of it on one of the walls of his room but I don't think it is all that practical when he is already 8 and may grow out of it - do pre-teens like robot wallpaper??

Moondoggie's Room
I think he is coming around to the idea now that it is taking shape and has even come up with some design ideas that he wants Dad to implement. Fingers crossed he falls in love with his new room because I don't think Gidget will be impressed with a night time visitor in her new private space.

Moondoggie Turns 4!
I feel like I am constantly raving about my family but bare with me for one more family milestone. After that you have at least a month off until the next one - MY 40th!!! (And you just know that will be a long post!)
Moondoggie appeared 3 weeks early back in 2004 and I fell madly in love with him.

Is has a lovely sweet nature and, like Lola, he is 'small and very funny'. He provides Gidget and I with constant amusement and is always first up for a kiss and and a cuddle if there's one offering. His favourite colour is green, he loves kisses, Boba Fett and the Power Rangers. He is a constant delight and I absolutely can not get enough of him.

Waiting For D.H.S.
How the hell does that happen???
He has been out of plaster for 1 WEEK!!!
I would understand if it was the same arm as the break is still to harden.
And how do you trip over in grass and break both bones???
Falling down stairs, jumping off the balcony, riding a bike, all understandable ways to break your arm. Running in your grandparents back garden is not.
By the way he has plaster from hand to shoulder once again.
FUUUCK!!

Bugger!!!!
You may remember I posted about Moondoggie breaking his arm. We went and had the plaster removed the day before the holidays which was perfect timing, and after 6 weeks he has been relishing having the use of both arms again.

Surfer Boy has just rung me to say they are on their way home but... they have stopped off at Geelong Hospital because he thinks Moondoggie may have broken his arm again!!!!!
Pardon my language in advance but ...FUUUCK!!!
Stay tuned...

One boy going cheap.
Our first day home from the hospital and Surferboy and I talk to Moondoggie about the need to be careful now that he is carrying around about a tonne of plaster on his left arm. We impress upon him the need to be careful as 'you broke your arm!!!' and your balance will be off for a while. He looked at us with those tangle-lashed orbes and assured us he understood...
Fast- forward to school pick-up and after reminding him not to jump off the retaining wall he so loves, he proceeded to get up said wall, fall off, and badly graze his knee. "But I didn't jump off it Mummy, I was climbing up."
Fast-forward again and I am busily working away on the computer (googling Lorelai Gilmore) when I hear Moondoggie run up the hall, chased by his sister, fall, smack his broken arm into the floor and split his lip open!!! Of course blood gushes everywhere and we assume he's knocked every tooth out of his mouth which luckily wasn't the case and he came away with a fat lip and very sore mouth.
At this juncture we decided to cut our losses and pack him off to bed before I had a nervous breakdown.
The thing that amazes me about the last couple of days is that it is all so out of character for Moondoggie. For a boy he is very placid and has rarely had any sort of accident, let alone ones of the magnitude of the last couple of days - maybe our run of luck is well and truely over!
He's damn lucky I think he's cute 'cause I'm this close to putting him up on ebay.
