Still Searching

For the perfect fridge...
Is it just me or is this fridge particularly full? I don't think I have ever had this much food, especially all those massive cuts of meat!
Perhaps if I too wore my heels while cooking dinner then my fridge would look like a cornucopia.

Kitchen Plans

My job this week is to lock in how I want my kitchen to be configured so I've been pouring through my files of photos to see what inspires me.  Judging by these shots that I highlighted I'm clearly heading back towards a predominantly white kitchen.  There was a while there when I toyed with the idea of lots of dark wood and rich colours but obviously I'm not quite ready for that yet.... maybe next time.

If you have any thoughts on drawers versus cupboards etc. please share.  I'm sure there are some fabulous storage ideas out there so don't be shy.... I need your brilliance to help me.

Who Is She?

You may recall that Surfer Boy gave me a J.H. Lynch painting for my birthday this year. I adore 'Autumn Leaves' and have kept my eye out for more of these lovely ladies. As yet no luck but it is even more fun if they are hard to find.
Tonight I have fallen heavily for this beautiful lady by the artist Lou Shabner...

Now to get my hands on her! The hunt begins.

North & South

I've spent the last few evenings curled up with these lovely boys...

Orry Main (Patrick Swayze) and George Hazard (James Read).
There is nothing like a sweeping period miniseries to get me entranced and this one is right up there with my very favourite - All The Rivers Run.  I will be entrenched in the American civil war for the next few weeks so forgive me if I start talking with a Southern drawl.

Of course one thing that I couldn't keep my eyes off this time around were the amazing homes of the Hazard and Main families.  The South had a lot that was fundamentally wrong with it but it's architecture wasn't one of those things.

Wednesday Wedding - 500 Days Of Summer

There are so many things I love about the styling for this wedding shoot for Serendipity Magazine. I adore 500 Days of Summer so basing the shoot around this movie was always going to be pleasing. He is wearing a cardi for the reception, which any regular readers of Chalk & Talk will know majorly floats my boat and OH - MY - GOD ... why didn't I have a pancake bar at my wedding??? We had a donut wedding cake but I want to do it again and have a pancake bar!

Enjoy these lovely photos by Sarah Yates..

The Rosie Black Chronicles

by Australian author - Lara Morgan

Five hundred years into the future, the world is a different place. The Melt has sunk most of the coastal cities and Newperth is divided into the haves, the “Centrals”; the have-nots, the “Bankers”; and the fringe dwellers, the “Ferals”.

Rosie Black is a Banker. When Rosie finds an unusual box, she has no idea of the grave consequences of her discovery. A mysterious organisation wants it – and will kill to get it.

Forced to rely on two strangers, Rosie is on the run. But who can she trust? Pip, the too attractive Feral, or the secretive man he calls boss?

From Earth to Mars, Rosie must learn the secrets of the box – before it’s too late.

Night Out

I took a friend to see HAIRSPRAY - The Musical last night at the Princess Theatre in Melbourne and let me just say that it was BRILLIANT.
I have reviewed it over here so I won't repeat myself suffice to say that I will be saving my pennies to go again as soon as possible.

Next Up On the Reading List....

I've got that thrilling feeling when I know I have books that I'm really dying to delve in to.
I'll tell you more about them soon....

Yellow

I'm finding lots of great table settings today - this one reminds me of my wedding - we had very similar boxes of yellow and white blooms interspersed with fruit just as this one does.
