Princess Watch

For those of us who are crazy Kate watchers - we got a lovely surprise when Kate attended an awards ceremony last night.  After weeks of missed appearances due to her illness, Kate thrilled everyone by attending the SPOTY Awards (sport) to present an award.  she only stayed for 45 minutes but that was enough to keep us going for a bit longer!

Princess Watch - Kate's Having A Baby!

What wonderful news to wake up to although it has been tempered by the fact that Kate is very unwell and has been hospitalised necessitating the need to announce the pregnancy early.

THE DUKE AND DUCHESS OF CAMBRIDGE ARE EXPECTING A BABY

Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby.
The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news.
The Duchess was admitted this afternoon to King Edward VII Hospital in Central London with Hyperemesis Gravidarum. As the pregnancy is in its very early stages, Her Royal Highness is expected to stay in hospital for several days and will require a period of rest thereafter.

Kate and Will at their last joint engagement at Peterborough Hospital

“HG is a debilitating and potentially life-threatening pregnancy disease marked by rapid weight loss, malnutrition, and dehydration due to unrelenting nausea and/or vomiting with potential adverse consequences for the newborn(s).”

I thought playing hockey in heels was impressive - but doing it while suffering from HG adds a whole new level of stoicism.

Kate has cancelled her next couple of engagements and Will spent the day with her at the hospital - here he is leaving last night.  Hopefully Kate will be able to successfully manage her condition and enjoy the rest of her pregnancy.

Princess Watch

Sorry I've been a bit slow on this update - Kate helped out the Queen this week at a function at the Palace to celebrate Team GB.
She wore ALICE by Temperley which has had very mixed reactions... what do you think?

Here is the dress in detail....

Royal Tour - Tuvalu

On arriving in Tuvalu Will and Kate were carried by throne to a fete where Will made a speech on behalf of the Queen.  They then visited Nauti Primary School and the University of the South Pacific.

In the evening they attended a traditional dinner hosted by the Governor General of Tuvalu. This dinner turned out to be one of the highlights of the trip with Will and Kate joining in some traditional dancing!!  What a fabulous way to end the tour with a glimpse of the couple at their most relaxed.

Kate wore - the Alice by Temperley embroidered crepe maxi dress.

Royal Tour - Day 2

Still in Singapore - Will and Kate's first stop of the day was at the park, Gardens By The Bay, where the public had a chance to meet the couple.

(Kate wore a broderie anglaise full skirted suit by Alexander McQueen)
They then spent time at the Rolls Royce aircraft engine factory where Will made a speech.

After a quick change the couple visited a residential area, Queenstown, that was named after Queen Elizabeth and again spent time meeting the public.

Then it was on to the Rainbow Centre - a school and community center for children with special needs.
Kate spent time with children in an art therapy class while Will took part in a PE class.
(Kate wore a skirt and top by Singaporean label RAOUL)
They are off to a reception this evening so I'll see you again soon...

2nd Royal Tour

Today The Duke and Duchess began their second Royal Tour as representatives of the Queen in this Jubilee year.  The South-East Asia Tour began in Singapore with Will and Kate touching down this afternoon our time.

Their first official engagement was at the National Orchid Garden at the Botanic Gardens where  they had an orchid named in their honour.

This was also a special moment for William as his Mum had an orchid named after her but tragically died before seeing it.  He was able to view the orchid today for the first time.

This tour will last 9 days and will include Malaysia, The Solomon Islands and Tuvalu.  Brace yourself for another onslaught of 'Princess Watch'.

Kate is wearing - Jenny Packham designed dress specifically made for the occasion and featuring orchids on the fabric.

Will and Kate attended the cycling and the goalball together and Kate continued on to the swimming later in the day.

Princess Watch - Paralympics

Kate and Will attended the opening ceremony of the Paralympics ..... I particularly loved these two shots - this is what happens when every moment is photographed.

Kate wore her pale gold coat by Mikklesen which we have seen on numerous other occasions - once more Kate wants the attention firmly on the athletes rather than her fashion choices.

Princess Watch

Never fear - I haven't forgotton Kate.  She had been at so many Olympic events in the last 2 days that I thought I'd spare you and just give you the highlights.  She attended the Aths, Handball, Gymnastics, amongst others and the photo below is from the Sailing which she attended with Princess Anne.  At all these events she wore variations of the GB official gear.  Just another instance of Kate trying to keep the limelight where it should be.

Princess Watch

Kate had a very full program yesterday - she went to the Athletics in the morning...

She then watched the Hockey while the boys were being interviewed over at channel 9...

She and Will visited the G.B. House at the Village and then headed over to the Aquatics Center to watch the swimming.

You may have noticed that Kate has either worn Team GB clothing or stuck to the GB colours of red, white and blue.  A lovely show of support for her country.  Kate also seems to have stuck to a basic uniform of jeans, tees and blazers so as not to take the spotlight away from the Olympics.  Kate often does this - for example she wears pieces we have seen before when traveling with the Queen so as not to overshadow her.  This week she has worn the same shoes and jeans pretty much every day and her navy blazer has made an appearance on most days.
oh and Kate's blazer here is a Zara blazer - worth 70 pounds - and proving once again that you don't need wealth to look fabulous.

Princess Watch - Velodrome

Will, Kate and Harry attended events at the Velodrome today and there was huge excitement when GB took out a GOLD!!  There was even more excitment when we got to see Will let loose. In the cutest display from Will and Kate EVER, Will grabs his wife to celebrate the win.
Fabuolous photos.
