Not Sure.

Being a big Alexis Bledel fan I was a little disappointed in her outfit choice for the Teen Choice Awards this year. It doesn't seem to fit her properly and her hair isn't doing anything for me. What do you think?

She's Done It Again

You'll never guess what I did last night!
I went ROLLER SKATING at the Sunshine Skate Rink for 'Dance and Skate' night! Before you mock, it was fantastic. I went with three other equally mad friends and we had so much fun.

We even listened to 'Wired For Sound' on the way there to get us in the mood.

After a bit of a practice on the beginner lane, we hit the floor and I could have sworn we were back in the early 80's. The only difference was the tunes - Joan Jett had a run but we were sadly ignorant of the rest of the DJ's suspect choices. The smoke machine was a winner though, as was the low lighting which gave us a pleasant sense of anonymity.
Break time and we hit the snack bar for some chips and a coke and a well earned rest - tiring business this skating.

Quite a few text messages came through this morning, all of them inquiring as to whether we had suffered any injuries! Oh what little faith.

All four of us came home unscathed but raring to go again. Me thinks this skating lark may become a regular outing. Cheap, hilariously funny, great exercise, music, really bad snacks - seriously, what could be better? (Lorelai would have come!)

It doesn't need to be boring...

There is an severe lack of gorgeous laundrys on the web so I can see why this one is often talked about. I'm not sure why they need 3 front loaders but I definitely know why they need those 3 ginger jars! I am a huge fan of the ginger jar and actually have some winging their way to me as we speak. Maybe I should buy some for the laundry too... so much to think about.... so many places you can use a ginger jar...

Mud Room?

While on the subject of the laundry room, I'm thinking I might incorporate a mud room into the laundry.

Somewhere to hang those pesky coats and scarves, nooks for schoolbags, sport stuff etc.

This house will see the kids right through their school years so I want to make sure I remember that and design accordingly.

LAUNDRY

We are in the middle of designs for our house extension and even though I am loving every second - I need some suggestions. Does anyone have any tips for the laundry? Alex and Kell both think a drying cupboard is essential, and I'm contemplating a fold down ironing board and 'flour bin' style cupboards for darks and lights! I'm sure there are more great ideas out there so please comment and let me know.

I'm also loving this idea of pigeon holes for specific items..

It was a hard night at our place tonight - Both the kids barrack for the Doggies and I have been a Sainta since the womb. As a family we tend to support the Bulldogs as we live and work in the midst of them and quite frankly it can be bad for your health not to barrack for the Dogs when you live in the West.

But when push comes to shove it is always the red, white and black that steals my allegiance.

My dad was heavily involved in the club when I was growing up and we spent every home game watching from the members dining room with the footballers wives. It was the glamour era of Trevor Barker, Michael Roberts etc and I loved every moment - although how much actual footy I watched is debatable.

I am by no means an avid supporter but it amazes me the feelings that stir when I do watch the boys in action. I love the Doggies, but the Saints are in my blood, a part of my history and I was so proud to be a St Kilda supporter when I watched tonight's game.

Sienna

I'm not a fan of Sienna Miller in theory but I have to admit she is my secret style idol. There is something very natural about her style and it always seems to look effortless.

Wish I looked like that when I got petrol!!

The Amazing Sarah Buxton

Sarah Buxton in my absolute favourite singer/songwriter. No matter how I am feeling Sarah manages to make me feel amazing. Songs such as 'That Kind of Day' fire me up and make me laugh and 'Innocence' is the only song I know of that has made me cry every time I have listened to it. Sarah is from Kansas, but now lives in Nashville and one day I am going to get to see her play live! (well, I'm going to try)

Roller Girl

As you know I got roller skates for my birthday and have been for a couple of skates around the neighbourhood - in the process realising that I am not quite as good as I thought I was!!!
I found this today and it really put me to shame. It has made me realise though that all I may be missing is a boom box and some rock'n tunes.

Google Horror - warning, spoilers ahead

I have discovered that as much as I love watching my favourite TV shows on DVD, sometimes it comes back and bites me on the arse.

Take One Tree Hill for example. I have been having a wonderful couple of months working my way through the first three seasons, blissfully unaware of upcoming story lines. Until recently that is!! I have got a friend hooked too, as we all need someone to share the joy, and we stupidly read the back cover of Season 4 only to discover that a much beloved character is dead. This meant that for the last half of season three we have been waiting for the awful deed to happen. We have learnt our lesson and HAVE NOT read the back of season 5.

R.I.P. Keith Scott

This is not the end of my tragedy - You may already know but I have a huge girl-crush on one of the characters, Brooke Davis, played by Sophia Bush. She and Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) are finally back together and all is right in my world....

UNTIL I did something monumentally stupid and googled!! Never, ever google unless you are prepared for the consequences.

While trawling for 'Lucas Scott' pictures to go over at 'Stars Hollow' I was confronted with THIS.... (AVERT YOUR EYES ALISON)

Even for those of you who have no idea who I am talking about it is pretty obvious that the girl sharing LUCAS' BED is NOT in fact the lovely Brooke!
Maybe it is for the best and hopefully by the time Peyton does end up in Lucas' bed I will have reconciled myself to the fact and Brooke (and I) will have moved on.

So heed my advice and DO NOT GOOGLE a beloved show unless you are prepared to stand by your decision.
