Number 1 on my laminated list!

The laminated list - for those who don't know - is a list of the 5 people you are so enamoured of that you would have a free pass to be with if the opportunity ever arose!  It is laminated so that it can not be changed willy nilly to suit you and the Laminated List must be disclosed to current partners so that they are aware that what you feel for these people is above and beyond all rules.
I only really have 2 on my list and they share top billing.  Mr Keith Urban and Mr Zac Efron.  Keith has been on my list for the past 15 years or more and Zac for the past decade.  Surfer Boy is fully aware of my feelings for these two men and even turns a blind eye to the framed images of them that dot our house.
Positions three, four and five belong to Paul Walker, Channing Tatum and Ryan Reynolds.
The only way the list can change is through death.  Heath Ledger was in number one position and his devastating death did have the advantage of letting Ryan jump up a spot in to the top 5.

I have shared my boys with you - now it's your turn... who is, or would be, on your Laminated List?

Zac & Ryan

Being True

In my 30's I learned that it is o.k. to let your freak flag fly as long as you commit and stand true to your strangeness.  For me, my 30's meant that I came clean on a few of my secret passions that were far from 'cool'.  My love for Keith Urban (and country music in general), my obsession with The Gilmore Girls, my ability to recite all the words to ALL THREE High School Musical films... and so many more.  Now that I think back this lesson was actually learned waaay earlier.  I don't drink alcohol, never have, and I discovered in my teens that allowing no doubt in anyone's mind translated to never being hassled about it.  I never suffered from peer pressure to drink as I never wavered.  This is now my philosophy.  My friends may roll their eyes and laugh good naturedly at my dodgey taste but they know I'm not changing any time soon and they still love me (and were not at all surprised when I bought myself the Justin Bieber Christmas Album!).

So thank you to all my gorgeous friends who love me as I am and still are happy to be seen in my company.
Now for some pictures of Keith....

Just wait until I share my Zac Efron obsession with you .......

Get Closer - Keith Urban at Rod Laver Arena

I know you are all dying to know about my Saturday night with KEITH!  It was everything I have come to expect, and more.  I think when you only perform one night the crowd is bound to be chock full of die hard fans and due to this the atmosphere was insane.  I know I'm extremely biased but I have never heard an audience show their appreciation with more enthusiasm than we did on Saturday night.

If you look closely at the photo below you will notice that a certain person is singing along to 'Raining On Sundays' with AN UMBRELLA IN HER HAND!!!
It was not premeditated but it just seemed the natural thing to do.  The lovely Craig who took these photos seems to think that the gesture was appreciated by the audience but I have no idea as I was so shocked that I had done it that I didn't notice anything except the security lady who kindly waited until the end of the song before asking me to put it down.

All in all I wish it was Friday so I still had it to do all over again - It's a long wait between concerts for Australian K.U. fans.

'Get Closer'

Keith is back in the country and I am barely keeping a lid on my excitment!  Can you imagine how I'll be by Saturday night ?

Expect a flurry of Keith related posts in the near future - don't say you weren't warned.

Finally

I ordered CDs online because I wasn't sure how long it would take me to get to the shops and the little buggers took a week and a half to send them anyway!

The postie just delivered them so I now have this in my hot little hands at last.

You can imagine how inappropriately loud this will be playing in the shop today!

Before you scoff just be glad I'm not playing the other CD that arrived today....

I Went To See Keith Urban Last Night

I gave myself the best Christmas present ever, and spent the evening with Keith Urban - unfortunately there were a few other people there as well but he and I knew who he was singing to!

He came and sang at the end of our row of seats and once I had recovered from the shock of being 8 foot away from him I snapped a couple of pics. (hands were shaking so sorry about the quality).

This year two other friends joined me and we decided that it was, hands down, the best concert EVER!!!! Glad there were others there to confirm it this time. (see here for my review of the last concert)

Sunday Rose Kidman Urban

The phone has rung hot this morning with friends checking to make sure I had heard the news about Keith. Luckily the lovely man, knowing I was waiting to hear, posted this on his website....

"Earlier this morning, Nic gave birth to our beautiful baby girl," he wrote. "We want to thank everybody that has kept us in their thoughts and prayers. We feel very blessed and grateful that we can share this joy with all of you today. More to follow..."

So she is finely here, safe and sound, and there is one more Urban in the world which can only be a very good thing for mankind!!!

Congratulations to the Urban and Kidman Families.

Close The Gap

I thought this was pretty cool -

The John Butler Trio and Keith Urban have released the version of "Funky Tonight" that they played at the ARIAs ... all proceeds go to the CLOSE THE GAP campaign (health equality for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders) ... buy a copy on iTunes ...

You can also see a video of the performance on
YouTube.
