Spring has Sprung at CHALK

I spent most of the day yesterday trying to fit all our new stock into the shop in some semblance of order. Customers were very understanding and stepped politely over piles of tees and baskets of squeakers as I tried a bit of re-jigging.

It is always such a fun time of year when all the new seasons stock starts arriving - as I ordered it all about 8 months ago I get a real kick out of opening boxes and seeing everything again.

It also gives me hope that summer is indeed on its way... in our shop at least.

I took home some bathers for the Gidget to try on as I couldn't resist. It's the first year we've done anything more than a spattering of girls bathers and they look so summery all hanging in a row. They are only $28.00 each so I think I'll have to get a couple of pairs.

I think I might have to come get me some of those bathers...do you have size 6 or 7?

I can't wait to storm your store one day . . . i need swimming costumes for my 4, & while i got the sweet new ones from Country Road, one style for 3 girls . . . i need variety. Our son still has the same Petit Bateau boardies he got when he was 1 (they still fit his triangular frame). I also envy your list of shows you like, as we only get 2 commercial channels in Darwin, it's a little short. City Homocide is good, if my husband will watch it with me, it must be OK. Damages is rather fascinating, although, as i put the television on during the day while i sew, to fill in the void & silence of having 4 children at school - they played the first episode 5 times (midday & midnight slots), then the 2nd episode over & over. I think i just like the fact Rose Byrne is in it. Love Posie

All looks gorgeous, especially the swimmers - don't they still call them 'togs' in Victoria?

Speaking of names, your 'ice cubes' were called 'jelly boots' in NSW. My favourite pair was transparent pink with rainbow laces.

Sorry I didn't get in to see you today, Jenny. I got held up MUCH longer than expected, and then had to rush home.

Next time.
