Goodbye House

We're done. We're out.  The house is now empty and looking very sorry for itself.  After 10 years and 2 kids it's rather sad to see the old girl looking so bereft but
hopefully it will be worth the effort in the end.  Seeing the house empty does make me astonished that the 4 of us fitted in it.  We definitely won't know ourselves when we have more space.  Next step demolition.

Tree Huggers

I came home from work last week and was told by Surfer Boy to go outside and see what was in the back yard.   Using a torch I discovered Gidget in a tree!

Surfer boy had informed the kids that the demolishers were going to remove everything and Gidget decided a protest was in order.  She certainly didn't get her activism from us - but good on her I guess.  Unfortunately the hideous tree is still going but points for effort Gidg.

Princess Watch.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are meeting local residents, emergency services and community group representatives in Birmingham today.  Kate looking lovely as usual. Bet we see a flurry of military inspired outfits in the near future.

Grafitti Noon

Never underestimate the joy of simple things.  Last weekend the kids discovered some wonderful artists in the process of working on an installation in the back alleys of North Melbourne.  They took me down there had we had a lovely time watching them work and chatting to them about their design.  The kids thought it was magical and can't wait to go back soon to see the finished product.  So thankyou to the grafitti girls who gave my kids such a lovely memory.

Peeping In - Sheryl Crow

Sheryl opened her doors for Achitectural Digest and the thing that caught my notice was the byline - 'she decorated it herself'.
The fact that they even mentioned it must indicate that most celebrities hire decorators which I think is rather sad.  I think you can tell that this house is a 'home' not a showpiece and says a lot about Sheryl that a 'designed' interior may not.

Bonus From Pittacus Lore

For those of us who loved - I Am Number Four - the clever people who are Pittacus Lore are giving their fans a bonus while we eagerly await the sequel.  Six's Legacy is available as an exclusive eBook, the short story is Six’s harrowing capture and eventual escape from the Mogadorians.

Before Paradise, Ohio, before John Smith, Six was traveling through West Texas with her Cêpan, Katarina. And what happened there would change Six forever….

What a clever way to keep us salivating for the next book.
