Princess Watch - Closing Ceremony

It's a sad day - no more waking up to see what Kate was doing - no more Team GB outfits, no more Kate and Will PDA - oh and of course no more sport!
The closing ceremony was great fun with my highlights being these two...

One Direction

The Spice Girls

And of course these two.....

Harry, standing in for The Queen (big responsibility for Harry) and Kate.

Harry, Will and Kate are ambassadors for the Para-Olympics so with a bit of luck I'll be able to continue to bore you with Princess Watch sooner rather than later.

What Kate is wearing - her Whistles dress (last seen at the Jubilee concert)

Princess Watch

Never fear - I haven't forgotton Kate.  She had been at so many Olympic events in the last 2 days that I thought I'd spare you and just give you the highlights.  She attended the Aths, Handball, Gymnastics, amongst others and the photo below is from the Sailing which she attended with Princess Anne.  At all these events she wore variations of the GB official gear.  Just another instance of Kate trying to keep the limelight where it should be.

Princess Watch

Kate had a very full program yesterday - she went to the Athletics in the morning...

She then watched the Hockey while the boys were being interviewed over at channel 9...

She and Will visited the G.B. House at the Village and then headed over to the Aquatics Center to watch the swimming.

You may have noticed that Kate has either worn Team GB clothing or stuck to the GB colours of red, white and blue.  A lovely show of support for her country.  Kate also seems to have stuck to a basic uniform of jeans, tees and blazers so as not to take the spotlight away from the Olympics.  Kate often does this - for example she wears pieces we have seen before when traveling with the Queen so as not to overshadow her.  This week she has worn the same shoes and jeans pretty much every day and her navy blazer has made an appearance on most days.
oh and Kate's blazer here is a Zara blazer - worth 70 pounds - and proving once again that you don't need wealth to look fabulous.

How Did Channel 9 Pull Off This Coup?

A lovely interview with William and Harry in the Channel 9 studios in London.  Leila McKinnon does a wonderful job with the interview and certainly handles herself with more poise than did Molly Meldrum in his interview with Prince Charles in the 80's
Can you please watch it just to confirm that although Harry may not look like Charles' son - he sure as hell sounds like him!!

Princess Watch - Velodrome

Will, Kate and Harry attended events at the Velodrome today and there was huge excitement when GB took out a GOLD!!  There was even more excitment when we got to see Will let loose. In the cutest display from Will and Kate EVER, Will grabs his wife to celebrate the win.
Fabuolous photos.

Princess Watch - Wimbledon in the Cheap Seats

Will and Kate went to Wimbledon to support Andy Murray and they had a ball joining in on multiple Mexican waves.
Kate wore her Stella McCartney dress and Smythe blazer.

LONDON – The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, aka Prince William and his wife Kate, surprised fans at the Olympic Games tennis tournament at Wimbledon by sitting in the cheap seats on Thursday.
The royal pair… decided to shun the VIP seating available to them in favor of a regular spot in the stands while watching Great Britain’s Andy Murray play Nicolas Almagro of Spain.
William and Kate would have been eligible to sit in Center Court’s Royal Box, which is reserved for special visitors to the All England Club. But as Murray was playing his quarterfinal on Court One, they instead opted for a normal pair of seats to the left of the players’ box.

Princess Watch - The Village

It was back to the Equestrian event for the Royal kidlets today where they seemed to have a fabulous time cheering on cousin Zara to a silver medal in the team event.

Later in the day Will, Kate and Harry visited the Olympic Village and were greeted by hoards of excited competitors.   Libby Trickett posted this photo on her Twitter feed and as you can see they have obviously just passed the Australian section of the Village and Harry is even in possession of a boxing kangaroo!

The Queen Does Have A Sense Of Humour!

Princess Watch - Olympics Day One

What an exciting day for the Royals - Kate and the rest of the Royal Family attended a reception at Buckingham Palace for foreign heads of state and government, hosted by the Queen.
I wonder what on earth Kate talks about to all those foreign dignitaries?  Could you think of anything worse than having to make small talk with the world's leaders?

From the reception Kate went straight to the Opening Ceremony.
She, Will and Harry sat directly behind the Queen and the Prime Minister - Surfer Boy wanted to know if they had to buy their tickets - I'm tipping they got in free.

Kate wore - a pale blue coat dress by Scottish designer Christopher Kane.

Oh and look who just posted a photo of herself on Facebook....you never who who is hiding in the crowd!

Princess Watch

I'd like to say first up that the next couple of weeks will probably see quite a few 'Kate Posts' appearing on this blog as the Olympics are about to start and Kate and the Princes are Olympic ambassadors and will attend quite a few events.  Consider yourselves warned - either join me in enjoying Kate's outings or check back when it's all over!

26th July

Kate, Will and Harry launched the Coach Core Program in South London - this is a program that encourages young people to become sport coaches.

Kate spent time with the Judo and Table Tennis then joined the brothers outside to watch the footy.  In one of the funniest quotes I've heard in a long time, one of the boys posed this question - 'Are you two brothers?'  to which Harry replied...'We're not sure.'

What Kate wore - Hobbs grey check Wessex dress and Pied a Terre  Imperia wedges in natural.

Later in the day Will, Kate and Harry welcomed the Torch Relay to Buckingham Palace.

Kate wore - Addidas GB Team apparel top and Zara skinny jeans.

Next Up -  Friday, July 27: The trio joins other Royals at a Buckingham Palace reception for Heads of State and Government, followed by the Opening Ceremony (9pm/4pm EDT)
